The Sierra Hotel Racing League is based on a short run contest format.  Each Contest will consist of 6 contest days. For each pilot the best 5 results of the 6 contest days will be counted toward the final score.

When a new contest begins it will be based at a particular airfield and each task for the 6 contest days will always begin and end there just as in real soaring competition.

The contest may be single class or multi-class or grand prix.

If the contest has multiple classes, there will typically be three classes to choose from.  The classes to choose from will be 15M, Standard, 18M,  and Open.  In Open Class a pilot can select any sailplane, however, your score will not be handicapped.  The briefings for the different classes can be found on the Contests page.  The briefing will contain weather information and the required turn points for each class.

No registration is required to compete.

It is important to note that if an IGC file is required, you must submit the file as soon as you exit out of Condor.  If a pilot delays in submitting their file, it will not be added to the scoring.

If the contest is a Multi-Class event, your flight cannot be scored without an IGC file.

All task types will be used:  Assigned Speed Tasks, Assigned Area Tasks, and Modified Area Tasks.
